The Interfaith Census 2020 Count Coalition is a diverse collective of faith leaders and faith-based organizations across NYC who seek to decrease fear, shatter apathy, and inspire hope to ensure a better future for everyday New Yorkers through a complete count in the 2020 Census.

Catholic Charities of New York, Council of People’s Organization (COPO), FPWA, Interfaith Center of New York, and UJA-Federation of New York have organized the coalition to provide a resource for faith communities to learn about the census, increase awareness in hard to count neighborhoods, and mobilize for a complete count.

Dedicated to developing a community-led plan, the coalition’s organizing members spent a series of several months convening faith leaders in hard to count neighborhoods and empowering these leaders to draft, edit, and directly influence a collection of faith-based census materials. These convenings resulted in the creation of a faith-based census mobilization tool kit, messaging and marketing strategy, and organizing plan for the self-response period. Our materials are inspired by the insight, theological reflection, and strategic thinking of faith and community leaders. We hope this site serves as a primary resource of faith leaders across traditions and human service agencies involved in ensuring a complete count.

For more information on census trainings and partnership with our coalition please contact Yolanda Richard at yrichard@fpwa.org or 212-801-1331.
